What We Do
South Hampton Public Library is a rural lending library located in the quaint town of South Hampton, New Hampshire, just north of Amesbury, Massachusetts. The South Hampton Library proudly offers the following services to its patrons:
Library Collection
The library has regular and large print books, magazines, audiobooks on CD, puzzles, games, DVDs. All of our collection is searchable online via our online catalog.
Computer and Internet Access
The library has one public access computer with cable internet. There is no charge for computer use, but it is limited to 30 minutes of use per day per person. You may also use this computer for word processing. Wi-Fi is also accessible at the library, and we offer loaner Wi-Fi hotspots and iPads.
Downloadable Audiobooks, e-Books, Digital Magazines
Access free e-Books and audiobooks through Libby (formerly Overdrive). Learn more about this free service and download options here. You will need your library card to sign in. If you are not yet a patron of the South Hampton Library, contact us to sign up and receive your library card number before using Libby for the first time.
Printers and Copy Machines
The library has printer and copy machines. Printing and copying is $.10 per page. The library staff will gladly assist with operating the machines.
Town History & Genealogy Materials
The library has a vast collection of South Hampton history & local family genealogy dating back to the early 1700s. Collection is not opened for public viewing. You must arrange for a time to access the collection, and the materials cannot leave the library.
